<image:title>Aj Coyle | Official Lyrics to Original Songs - The Flight - AJ Coyle</image:title>
<image:caption>Dreaming of surrender headed for a plane The time would pass between us could it ever be the same Wondered if I’d find you the way you were that day A cold confused survivor in a world for disarray Look what they’ve done to our land So many changes I just can’t understand It’s still the place I love but has peace flown with the dove Look what they’ve done to our land Dreaming of and island a quiet place to land I could feel your heartbeat as it wash across the sand Like a message in bottle a story and name Your tired, poor and hungry but we’d take you just the same Dreaming of a battle could you take the strain There’s bound to be looser but in the end who’s to gain Wondered if you’d be there I wondered what you’d say Would you see me as a son or send me on my way Look what they’ve done to our land So many changes I just can’t understand It’s still the place I love but has peace flown with the dove Look what they’ve done to our land</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Paul Reed Smith Custom 24</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1989 PRS Custom 24 is from the era when PRS was still a small, intensely hands-on shop — and it shows. The Ten Top maple cap has the depth, flame, and movement that defined early PRS aesthetics, paired with a resonant mahogany back and finished in a rich red that has only grown more expressive with age. The neck carve is classic late-’80s PRS: sleek but substantial, shaped before CNC uniformity, with a feel many players still consider the company’s best period. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard adds glassy articulation and warmth, giving the guitar the signature harmonic bloom associated with PRS’s earliest builds. Electronics include the original five-way rotary selector, offering everything from full humbucker authority to shimmering split-coil textures. In place of a tone knob, this guitar features PRS’s early Sweet Switch — a simple mini-toggle designed to subtly soften and round the top end, giving the guitar a warmer, more musical contour without sacrificing clarity. It’s a small detail, but one that perfectly reflects the experimental, tone-chasing mindset of PRS’s formative years. Tonally, the guitar delivers the balance that made the Custom 24 a modern classic: fast attack, rich sustain, tight low end, and a high end that stays sweet even under gain. It’s versatile without being generic, refined without losing personality — a hallmark of PRS’s golden era. A beautifully preserved example of early PRS craftsmanship, built when ambition, innovation, and wood selection were inseparable.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Fender Custom Shop (1999)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1990 Fender Custom Shop HH Telecaster is part of a small, highly experimental period in the early CS years — a time when Fender quietly built instruments that broke every rule of traditional Tele design. With a set mahogany neck, chambered mahogany body, and Dimarzio-designed humbuckers, this guitar lives squarely in the boutique world rather than anything resembling a production Tele. The humbuckers are a standout feature. Co-designed by Dimarzio and the Fender Custom Shop, they deliver a broad, expressive voice — warm and articulate — and the micro-switch coil tap unlocks one of the most convincing single-coil tones ever to come out of a humbucker. It’s not a thin compromise; it’s a full, bright, usable Tele-like voice that gives the guitar surprising range in the studio. The top is a deeply figured quilted maple and is paired with the chambered mahogany body, the guitar resonates more like a carved-top boutique instrument than any traditional Fender. The neck is a comfortable set-in design with excellent upper-fret access, topped with a smooth pau ferro fingerboardthat adds clarity and a touch of midrange snap. The overall feel is refined, loud acoustically, and exceptionally responsive under the hands. This build represents the early Fender Custom Shop at its most fearless — blending classic silhouettes with modern boutique construction. It has nothing in common with the inexpensive dual-humbucker Teles that would appear decades later. This is a true CS experiment: lightweight, resonant, expressive, and full of personality.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Martin D-42 (2007)</image:title>
<image:caption>A D-42 is already a statement guitar, but pairing the model’s ornate appointments with koa back and sides creates something altogether different—an instrument with a voice as striking as its appearance. This 2007 example combines a beautifully aged Sitka spruce top with bookmatched koa that glows under the light, giving the guitar a sense of movement even when it’s standing still. Tonally, koa brings a unique blend of clarity and sweetness. When played softly, the guitar has an almost glassy articulation, every note outlined with precision. Push it, and the sound opens up with a bright, harmonic shimmer that’s unmistakable. Over time, koa develops depth and warmth, and this instrument has reached that point where the dry, focused midrange has merged with a blooming overtone profile—complex but never muddy, refined but never delicate. The D-42 appointments add elegance without interfering with the guitar’s voice: abalone top trim, high-grade ebony fingerboard, and vintage-style tuners that complete the look with understated class. Together, they reinforce the feeling that this guitar was built to be both played and admired. What makes this D-42 truly memorable, though, is the balance between detail and power. It responds instantly to the player’s touch, yet carries enough headroom to fill a room with ease. It’s a guitar that rewards nuance, encourages dynamics, and only gets better the longer you spend with it. A remarkable example of Martin craftsmanship—visually captivating, tonally mature, and unmistakably alive.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Keith Roscoe S-2000 (1990s)</image:title>
<image:caption>The S-2000 is Keith Roscoe’s seldom-seen foray into boutique electric guitars—a hand-built instrument that carries the same craftsmanship and musical intelligence as his legendary basses. This one, outfitted with Bartolini pickups and an active circuit, is a sonic outlier in the best possible way. The moment you plug it in, you realize the guitar isn’t trying to imitate anything. It has its own voice. And that voice is otherworldly. The Bartolinis give the guitar an almost vocal midrange—smooth, harmonically complex, and deeply responsive to touch—while the active preamp expands the tonal palette far beyond what passive wiring can offer. Clean tones have a crystalline bloom that seems to hang in the air; pushed into gain, the instrument retains an eerie clarity and focus, even at high saturation levels. Notes don’t just sustain—they hover. Roscoe didn’t build many of these, and each one has the personal, organic feel of a small-shop experiment done right. This example, Serial No. 4923, blends a beautifully carved quilted top with Roscoe’s unmistakable neck profile, creating an instrument that feels effortless in the hands and unmistakable through an amp. Rare, expressive, and unapologetically unique, the S-2000 stands as a reminder that some of the most interesting guitars of the ’90s never made it into catalogs—they were built quietly, one at a time, by luthiers chasing a sound only they could hear.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - "Piney" - CYS Mod</image:title>
<image:caption>There’s something unmistakably honest about a pine-bodied Telecaster. It doesn’t hide anything. It doesn’t round off its edges. It just tells the truth — sometimes gently, sometimes not. This one started life as a mid-’90s Fender neck (Serial No. N385389), but the moment it was paired with a hand-shaped pine body and a set of Klein pickups, the instrument stopped being a mod and became a voice. Pine gives it a soft, woody resonance that feels almost acoustic under the hands — airy on top, warm through the mids, and quick to respond to touch. The Kleins add definition and character: the neck pickup has that smoky, bluesy whisper you only get from underwound coils, while the bridge carries the familiar Tele bite but with an extra degree of sweetness and bloom. It’s expressive, lively, and deceptively complex for a guitar that looks like it walked out of a workshop covered in sawdust. “Piney” isn’t a clone of anything. It’s a Telecaster in spirit, but its feel and tone sit somewhere between folk instrument, blues machine, and stripped-down hot rod. The kind of guitar that surprises you the first time you plug it in — and keeps surprising you every time afterward.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Taylor C612 (1997)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1997 Taylor 612c comes from the era when Taylor’s Grand Concert models were built light, resonant, and exceptionally responsive. The beautifully figured maple back and sides give the guitar its signature clarity and brilliance, but with over two decades of aging, the maple has developed a warmer, more complex character than when it was new. Paired with a spruce top, the guitar has a sparkling, articulate attack and remarkable dynamic range — clean when played softly, and powerful when pushed. Being electronics-free keeps its voice pure and unaffected. With nothing inside the body to dampen resonance, the guitar responds instantly to touch, projecting a clear, focused tone that feels almost intimate. Maple’s natural transparency blends with spruce’s headroom to create a sound that is bright but never brittle, warm but never muddy — a balanced, musical instrument that excels at fingerstyle but holds its own in light strumming as well. The graceful cutaway, ebony fretboard, and classic ’90s Taylor appointments complete the picture: a beautifully preserved example from a time when Taylor’s smaller-bodied guitars were built with a kind of simplicity and lightness that is hard to find today. Elegant, articulate, and effortlessly expressive.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - "Tele Jr" Fender Custom Shop (1995)</image:title>
<image:caption>The Tele Jr. remains one of Fender’s boldest Custom Shop departures — a mid-’90s hybrid that fused classic Telecaster lines with the attitude and muscle of a Les Paul Junior. With its set neck, thicker body, and a pair of snarling P-90–style pickups, the Tele Jr. occupies a sonic space entirely its own: bright and articulate on top, thick through the mids, and capable of real authority when pushed. This 1995 example preserves everything that makes the model special, but with an important and thoughtful upgrade. The original Tele Jr. shipped with a V–T–S layout (Volume, then Tone, then Switch from the front) — a configuration presumably aimed at players who use pinky-volume swells. Practical for some, but visually and ergonomically foreign to any Tele traditionalist. This guitar corrects that. The control plate has been rotated to the familiar Telecaster S–V–T layout — Switch forward, Volume in the middle, Tone at the rear. Instantly, the instrument feels more intuitive, more “Tele,” and more connected to the muscle memory of anyone who has lived with a classic control configuration. It’s a small change that dramatically improves the playing experience without altering the spirit of the Tele Jr. itself. Combined with the set neck’s sustain and the P-90s’ wide-band growl, the result is a guitar that delivers the raw, mid-forward punch of a Junior while retaining the snap, clarity, and switching feel of a Fender. A rare Custom Shop creation, refined in exactly the way a real Tele player would want.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Bob Gorny Alien Guitar (1980)</image:title>
<image:caption>The Bob Gorny Alien is not simply a rare guitar — it is a surviving artifact from the early American boutique movement, built by one of the Midwest’s most gifted and least-documented luthiers. Created in 1980 the Alien reflects the singular vision of Robert “Bob” Gorny, a 6-foot-7 Chicago craftsman who began building instruments because the standard guitar world simply didn’t fit him. Gorny’s background in his father’s tool-and-die shop gave him a level of precision few luthiers of the era could match. His early shop, Custom Guitar Works, became a quiet hub for Chicago’s professional players in the ’70s and ’80s — a place where working musicians brought instruments that needed truly expert hands. His clientele speaks for itself: Jeff Beck, George Benson, Emmylou Harris, Buddy Guy — artists who could choose anyone, yet chose Gorny. The Alien captures everything that made his work extraordinary. The sculpted, asymmetrical body is unmistakably hand-built — not drafted from templates, but carved to Gorny’s own ergonomic sensibilities. The multi-piece center lamination shows his woodcraft; the metalwork hints at his tool-and-die lineage; and the overall shape reflects a luthier unconcerned with tradition and absolutely committed to function. The lone Lawrence humbucker sits where Gorny believed tone lived — close enough to the bridge for attack, but far enough forward to retain body and sustain. Plugged in, the guitar produces a voice that is bold, mid-focused, and instantly responsive. You feel the note bloom from the wood, not just the pickup. This is the hallmark of Gorny’s electrics: they behave as extensions of the player rather than variations on a template. Today, Gorny’s instruments are seldom seen. His influence lives through the players he supported and the reputation he quietly built. The Alien is a rare survivor from a chapter of American luthiery that existed before marketing, before CNC, and before boutique became a category. It is the work of a craftsman who built because he had to — and because standard guitars simply couldn’t keep up with his vision A remarkable, one-of-a-kind piece of guitar history.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Martin Custom Shop D-18</image:title>
<image:caption>This Custom Shop D-18 is the kind of guitar Martin makes when they choose to reinterpret one of their most iconic models with nothing held back. Built from AAAAA-grade mahogany, the back and sides have a depth and shimmer far beyond standard sets — lightweight, resonant, and impossibly responsive. Paired with a Sitka spruce top chosen for its clarity and dynamic range, the guitar delivers the classic D-18 voice but with an immediacy and refinement that only master-level tonewoods can produce. The ebony fretboard with biscuit inlays adds a clean, modern elegance, while the headstock tells a deeper story: a Brazilian rosewood headplate adorned with Martin’s traditional inlay, a subtle but unmistakable nod to the company’s golden-era craftsmanship. Vintage-style tuners complete the look, grounding the instrument firmly in pre-war aesthetics without sacrificing modern accuracy. Tonally, this guitar sits precisely where a great D-18 should — but elevated. The mahogany gives it a quick, articulate attack with a beautifully focused midrange, while the Sitka top adds a shimmering high end that expands as the guitar opens up. Traditional bracing keeps the sound honest and wide open, delivering that characteristic D-18 dryness and punch, but with more presence, more harmonic content, and a sense of structural balance you can feel in your chest. This Custom Shop build isn’t just a D-18 with prettier wood — it’s a careful, reverent reimagining of the classic mahogany dreadnought, crafted from materials chosen not only for beauty, but for their ability to make the guitar feel awake the moment you pick it up.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - "Whale" PRS 594 Soapbar</image:title>
<image:caption>This PRS McCarty 594 Soapbar is a highly customized Wood Library build, distinguished by its stunning Whale Blue flame maple top and a set of PRS P-90 Soapbar pickups that give the guitar a lively, articulate voice. While the 594 platform is known for its vintage-inspired character, this example goes further. The stock 594 neck carve is famously substantial, but this guitar features a custom carve similar to Pattern Regular — a touch slimmer, faster, and more ergonomic while still retaining the grip and stability of the 594 silhouette. It’s a neck designed not for the catalog, but for the player. The Wood Library top is exceptional even by PRS standards: deep flame, three-dimensional movement, and a Whale Blue finish that shifts from navy to electric blue depending on the light. Paired with a resonant mahogany body, the guitar has the warmth, sustain, and harmonic density that define the 594 lineage. The PRS P-90 Soapbars give this instrument a wide expressive range. They deliver the immediacy and punch expected of a P-90, but with PRS’s refined voicing — clear, open highs, powerful mids, and a responsive low end that records exceptionally well. Clean tones have shimmer and definition; drive tones develop a focused growl without losing clarity. With its custom neck, Wood Library top, and P-90s, this 594 steps outside standard PRS production. It feels more personal, more expressive, and more versatile — a modern classic built with the kind of attention normally reserved for Private Stock instruments. A standout guitar in every sense:</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - PRS Custom 22 Soapbar (2000)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2000 PRS Custom 22 (Serial No. 051564) is part of a short-lived and increasingly sought-after run of Soapbar-equipped CU22s — guitars that offered a distinctly different voice from the humbucker-driven lineup of the era. With three PRS Soapbar pickups, this model blends the clarity and chime of classic single-coils with the punch and midrange authority of P-90–style designs, giving it a broad tonal range and a uniquely expressive character. The carved flame maple top shows elegant, even figure under a warm violin-burst finish, paired with a resonant mahogany body that adds depth and sustain. Clean tones sparkle with definition; driven tones develop a focused, vocal growl that sits beautifully in a mix. The middle pickup position — exclusive to this configuration — provides an unusually rich, harmonically complex texture that quickly becomes indispensable. One of the defining features of this run is the unique D-profile neck, a carve made specifically for the Soapbar CU22. Fuller and rounder than later “Pattern” designs, the neck has a comfortable, expressive feel with enough shoulder for grip and vibrato, yet remains fast and fluid under the hand. It’s a neck carve PRS never widely repeated, and players who’ve spent time with it remember it fondly. Together with the rosewood fingerboard and classic half-moon dot inlays the guitar captures everything special about early-2000s PRS craftsmanship — refined, musical, and built with a clear sense of identity. A rare variant of the Custom 22 with a distinctive voice, a distinctive neck, and surprising versatility in the studio.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Breedlove Masterclass</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2013 Breedlove Master Class PNW represents the pinnacle of the company’s handcrafted work — a guitar built with intention, artistry, and the unmistakable tonal signature of the Pacific Northwest. The combination of a responsive Sitka spruce top with myrtlewood back and sides gives the instrument a voice that is uniquely Breedlove: bright and clear on the attack, full and blooming through the mids, and surprisingly powerful in the low end for a tonewood this lightweight. Myrtlewood is the star here. Used almost exclusively by Breedlove, it blends the piano-like clarity of maple, the warmth of walnut, and the harmonic richness of rosewood — a rare tonal trifecta. Paired with a lively Sitka top, the guitar delivers excellent note separation, shimmering overtones, and a wide dynamic range that makes it equally at home in fingerstyle or open, ringing strums. The ebony fingerboard carries elegant PNW-inspired inlays, a visual signature of the Master Class line. Each piece is hand-set, echoing the shapes and textures of the region where the guitar was built — coastline, forest, and sky distilled into wood and shell. The neck’s profile and setup add to the experience: comfortable, smooth, and immediately inviting under the hands. Tonally, the guitar is expressive without being delicate — articulate enough for recording, rich enough for solo work, and clear enough to sit beautifully in an ensemble. Notes bloom with a natural sweetness that reflects both the aging of the wood and Breedlove’s meticulous top voicing. A refined, highly musical example of Breedlove’s flagship craftsmanship — an instrument built with local woods, local artistry, and a sound that is unmistakably its own.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Keith Roscoe LG322</image:title>
<image:caption>Keith Roscoe has spent most of his career earning a reputation as one of the finest bass luthiers in the world, which makes his six-string guitars extraordinarily rare. This LG322, built for the 2014 NAMM show, is one of only a handful ever made — a personal showcase of Roscoe’s craftsmanship, wood selection, and artistic voice. The guitar features a resonant swamp ash body capped with a stunning spalted birch top, a wood choice that is as visually striking as it is sonically expressive. The three-piece maple and pau ferro neck provides stability, snap, and a strong midrange push, while the ebony fingerboard adds clarity and immediacy to every note. The delicate mother-of-pearl and abalone inlay, done by one of Roscoe’s own luthiers, elevates the instrument beyond typical boutique builds — this is functional art. Tonally, the LG322 blends Roscoe’s trademark clarity with impressive dynamic range. The swamp ash delivers airy lows and articulate highs, while the spalted birch top adds harmonic complexity and a slightly compressed sweetness. Plugged in, the guitar responds instantly to touch, with a focused attack and remarkable detail across the register — characteristics consistent with Roscoe’s finest basses, translated beautifully into the six-string format Purchased new from Keith himself, this was one of only two guitars he built for NAMM that year, making it both a rarity and a direct representation of the aesthetic and tonal ideals Roscoe wanted to present at the show. It is an instrument built with intention, showcasing a luthier who brings the precision of a master craftsman to a form he rarely approaches — and excels at when he does. A boutique rarity with presence, personality, and unmistakable Roscoe DNA.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Built from a Warmoth body and neck and fitted with Fender Custom Shop Nocaster pickups, this CY Studios “T” is one of those instruments that proves a simple truth: when the right parts come together with the right setup, the result can outplay almost anything with a factory logo. The Warmoth neck has the feel that players chase — stable, comfortable, and alive under the hands — while the chambered body resonates in a way that makes the guitar feel immediately responsive. The FCS Nocaster pickups complete the picture: clear, open, and perfectly voiced, with that unmistakable Tele attack that slices through a mix without ever becoming harsh. They deliver the full palette — from woody, rounded neck tones to the bright, articulate bite of the bridge — all with remarkable balance. The notes sit exactly where they should, the dynamic range is generous, and the instrument records cleanly without fighting the player or the microphone. It’s one of those rare Ts where everything feels dialed in — the kind of guitar engineers trust and players reach for when they need the take to land. A straightforward, no-nonsense Tele that happens to be one of the best sounding and best playing in the room.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Taylor K65 Twelve String</image:title>
<image:caption>The Taylor K65 is one of the company’s most distinctive 12-string designs — an all-koa Grand Auditorium built during a period when Taylor’s craftsmanship leaned toward resonance, lightness, and musicality. This 1998 example pairs beautifully figured koa back, sides, and top, giving the guitar a voice that is naturally bright, articulate, and highly responsive. Koa is known for its clear, focused mids and shimmering high end, and on a 12-string those qualities become especially expressive. The guitar produces a crisp, chiming top register with an almost bell-like quality, while the octave strings retain remarkable definition. Despite its brightness, the instrument never sounds thin; the aged koa adds a fullness that comes from harmonic richness rather than low-end heaviness. Mic’d in the studio, the guitar reveals an immediately usable tone — clean, balanced, and detailed without the congestion that can plague many 12-strings. The neck and playability reflect Taylor’s late-’90s approach: smooth, fast, and comfortably shaped for both strumming and fingerstyle textures. Every note responds quickly under the hands, and the guitar projects with surprising authority for an instrument known more for shimmer than brute power. A lively, articulate koa 12-string that has opened up with real playing, offering a bright yet full tonal character that records beautifully and inspires easily.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This 2020 Gibson Custom Shop ’60 Les Paul brings together everything players look for in a modern historic: a resonant mahogany body, a beautifully figured maple top, and the unmistakable feel and response that define a great Les Paul. Modeled after the slimmer 1960 neck profile, it plays fast and comfortably while retaining the authority and depth the design is known for. The carved maple top shows off an expressive flame pattern under a classic burst finish — the kind of top that looks alive under stage lights and warm in the studio. Paired with the solid mahogany body and neck, the guitar delivers the familiar Les Paul punch: thick midrange, singing sustain, and a clear top end that cuts without harshness. Plugged in, the Custombuckers capture the character of a well-voiced vintage set — open, articulate, and harmonically rich. Clean tones have weight and presence; pushed tones bloom into that unmistakable Les Paul roar, with excellent note separation even under gain. It’s a guitar that feels equally at home laying down rhythm tracks or stepping forward with lead lines. This ’60 LP isn’t just a reproduction — it’s a modern, studio-ready interpretation of one of the most iconic electric guitars ever built. <image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Tom Anderson Cobra T</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2003 Tom Anderson Cobra is a beautifully executed example of Anderson’s modern take on the short-scale mahogany guitar — a design that marries classic tonewood warmth with the precision, balance, and feel that made Anderson one of the most respected boutique builders of his era. The guitar features a chambered mahogany body topped with a flamed maple cap finished in a striking blue burst. The chambering gives the instrument a lighter, more resonant character, adding air and immediacy to the attack while enhancing sustain. Plugged in, the guitar feels alive in the hands — responsive, present, and dynamically rich. The satin-finished mahogany neck is a highlight: smooth, fast, and instantly comfortable, with a broken-in feel that encourages long sessions without fatigue. The rosewood fingerboard with clay dot inlays adds a tasteful, vintage-inspired touch, while the compensated nut ensures accurate intonation across the fretboard — a small but meaningful refinement that reflects Anderson’s attention to detail. Dual Anderson P-90–style pickups give the Cobra a bold, expressive voice. Clean tones are articulate with a defined low end and clear upper mids; driven tones develop a muscular, vocal character with the bite and attitude P-90s are known for. Combined with the chambered body, the guitar delivers a wide dynamic range — capable of shimmering cleans, gritty blues textures, and modern rock edge. This Cobra represents everything Tom Anderson does well: thoughtful design, impeccable craftsmanship, and a tone that blends classic inspiration with modern precision. A blue-burst, chambered, P-90 Cobra isn’t just rare — it’s the kind of guitar that becomes a studio favorite the moment it arrives.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Dean Gordon Virtus "Black Out"</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2015 Dean Gordon Virtus “Black Out” is a rare and historically significant boutique instrument — the 20th guitar ever built by luthier Dean Gordon, completed during his tenure at Chelsea Guitars, the legendary shop inside the Chelsea Hotel in Manhattan. Long before relocating to Miami, Gordon honed his craft in New York’s most storied guitar repair room, surrounded by touring musicians, session players, and instruments with decades of history behind them. That heritage is visible in the Virtus. The body is carved from alder, finished in a deep piano-black gloss and accented by Gordon’s signature 5052 aircraft-grade aluminum horn — a sculptural detail that fuses industrial design with luthiery. The old-growth Michigan Silver Maple neck, finished in satin charcoal nitro, offers a fast, broken-in feel, while the Dark East Indian Rosewood fingerboard brings warmth and tactile smoothness. The 12” radius and Medium-C carvereflect Gordon’s early design language: ergonomic, modern, and engineered for long hours of play. A set of custom McNelly humbuckers gives the guitar a voice that is focused, present, and highly articulate — tight low end, defined mids, and enough harmonic content to cut cleanly in a mix. At 7.1 lbs, thanks to its thoughtful construction, the Virtus feels lightweight and responsive without compromising sustain or authority. Dean Gordon’s New York period was formative. Trained under master builders Victor Baker and Roger Sadowsky, and working daily on vintage guitars at Chelsea Guitars, he developed an aesthetic that blends futurism with hands-on traditional expertise. This Virtus — the 20th instrument he ever built — stands as a direct artifact of that era. A striking, modern, and culturally rooted instrument from one of today’s most distinctive boutique luthiers.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Taylor AB1 acoustic bass</image:title>
<image:caption>The Taylor AB-1 is one of the most distinctive and forward-thinking instruments the company ever produced — a large-bodied acoustic bass designed not to mimic an upright or imitate an electric, but to establish its own acoustic voice. This 2000 example reflects Taylor’s peak era of experimentation, combining bold construction ideas with effortless playability. Built with an oversized body, offset soundhole, and carefully tuned acoustic bracing, the AB-1 produces a low end that is warm, controlled, and surprisingly articulate. Unlike most acoustic bass guitars, which tend toward either boominess or thinness, the AB-1 delivers true bass fundamentals with clarity. Notes bloom naturally, sustain well, and retain pitch definition — qualities that make the instrument exceptionally easy to record with a microphone. Engineers often remark how little EQ it needs. The long-scale neck is one of the AB-1’s most unexpected strengths. Despite the instrument’s size, the neck feels fast and fluid, closer to a finely set-up acoustic guitar than a conventional bass. Taylor’s trademark fretwork and satin finish give it an inviting, almost effortless feel, encouraging melodic lines and dynamic playing rather than the heavy-handed approach acoustic basses often demand. Visually, the AB-1 carries the elegant simplicity of Taylor’s late-’90s design language: clean lines, graceful curves, and a body that borders on sculptural. In the studio or rehearsal room, it brings a character no electric or upright can fully replicate — a woody, resonant bass voice with both presence and nuance. Produced only for a short period and discontinued for practical, not musical, reasons — cost, size, and limited market demand — the AB-1 has since become a rarity. Those who know them consider the AB-1 one of Taylor’s most unique achievements: an acoustic bass that truly works. A bold, expressive instrument with a voice entirely its own.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This 1999 PRS Custom 22 is a striking and uncommon configuration, featuring three PRS Soapbar pickups and a maple neck with matching maple fretboard — a combination that gives the guitar a distinctive look and an unmistakably fast, articulate response. The carved flame maple top glows under a vibrant red finish, with figure that moves under light in classic late-’90s PRS fashion. The mix of swamp-ash clarity, maple snap, and Soapbar warmth gives this CU22 a broad tonal range: bright and immediate on the attack, full through the mids, and capable of both jangling cleans and raw, expressive overdrive. The three-soapbar layout is the secret weapon here. The neck pickup is smooth and rounded, the bridge has a focused punch, and the middle pickup adds a unique chime and complexity not found on humbucker CU22s. Combined, they make the guitar unusually versatile — ideal for rhythm textures, layered parts, or expressive lead tones that sit easily in a mix. The maple neck and board give the guitar a crisp, snappy feel under the fingers, with a lively response that encourages dynamic playing. It’s a configuration PRS rarely produced, and its distinctive tone makes it a standout in the studio. A bright, expressive, and unmistakably unique Custom 22 — visually striking, tonally flexible, and endlessly fun to play.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Moonstone Eclipse (1988)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1988 Moonstone Eclipse is a striking example of Steve Helgeson’s visionary work during the peak era of Moonstone Guitars in Northern California. Built just before the late-’80s factory fire that ended Moonstone’s original production run, this Eclipse captures everything that made Helgeson’s instruments legendary among musicians who sought something beyond traditional design. The guitar features a neck-through multi-laminate construction, with contrasting stringers running the full length of the instrument for exceptional sustain and rigidity. The body wings are topped with a beautifully figured burl maple veneer, a hallmark of Moonstone’s exotic-wood aesthetic. The result is both visually dramatic and distinctly organic — the kind of top that looks carved from nature as much as crafted in a workshop. Dual Bartolini pickups with an expanded active control layout give the Eclipse an unusually wide tonal range for its era. Clean tones are clear and piano-like, with a tight low end and strong midrange presence. Drive it, and the guitar responds with an articulate growl that retains note separation even under heavy gain — likely influenced by the Alembic school of design that shaped many Northern California luthiers of the time. The set-through neck and rosewood fingerboard offer comfortable playability, while the body’s soft double-cutaway contours give the instrument a balanced, ergonomic feel despite its substantial build. Helgeson’s craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the precise wood laminations to the carved headstock and understated dot inlays. Representing one of the last guitars produced before Moonstone’s original shop was lost, this Eclipse stands as a piece of boutique-builder history — a rare instrument from a period when exotic materials, neck-through designs, and hand-built precision defined the cutting edge of American luthiery. A distinctive, powerful, and beautifully voiced guitar from one of the great unsung craftsmen of the era.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Taylor K12</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2007 Taylor K12ce is a beautifully detailed Grand Concert model that pairs a Sitka spruce top with Hawaiian koa back and sides — a combination that brings out the clarity and chime koa is known for while adding the warmth, headroom, and dynamic responsiveness of spruce. Where all-koa guitars tend toward brightness and a dry midrange focus, the Sitka top gives this K12ce a fuller, rounder voice. Notes bloom more easily, strumming feels more open, and the guitar responds gracefully to both a light touch and more expressive dynamics. The result is a tone that is articulate yet musical, balanced yet lively — ideal for fingerstyle players and studio work where definition matters. The guitar features Taylor’s elegant abalone top purfling and abalone rosette, paired with an ebony fingerboard inlaid with Taylor’s distinctive abalone “leaf” markers. The Venetian cutaway adds easy access to higher frets, and the Grand Concert body keeps the voice focused, intimate, and exceptionally well behaved under a microphone or plugged in. Visually, the contrast between the straight-grained Sitka top and the figuring of the koa body gives the instrument a refined, understated beauty — one that becomes even richer as the koa deepens in color over time. A finely crafted small-body Taylor with a tone that is clear, expressive, and more versatile than all-koa designs — a perfect blend of spruce warmth and koa sparkle.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Gretsch 6120 "Brian Setzer"</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2008 Gretsch 6120 Brian Setzer model is a superb example from the respected Terada factory in Japan — and one originally selected through Wildwood Guitars, a dealer known for handpicking only the most exceptional tops and liveliest instruments. This particular guitar features one of the most dramatic figured maple tops seen on a modern Gretsch, with deep flame and vibrant movement that set it apart visually from standard production examples. Tonally and mechanically, this model reflects Setzer’s performance-driven approach. The fully hollow flame maple body is paired with trestle bracing for greater feedback control and enhanced attack, while a pair of TV Jones pickups deliver the clarity, sparkle, and midrange bite that define the classic Gretsch sound. Whether clean or pushed, the guitar responds with quick, articulate punch and the unmistakable “snap” associated with Setzer’s signature tone. The ebony fingerboard adds smoothness and precision to the feel, offering a fast playing surface with excellent note definition. Combined with the comfortable neck profile and meticulous Terada fretwork, the instrument feels balanced, responsive, and stage-ready. The Bigsby vibrato system adds expressive versatility while maintaining solid tuning stability. Visually, the guitar is pure Gretsch charisma: flame orange finish, gold hardware, elegant F-holes, and classic 6120 styling. The original Setzer dice knobs remain preserved in the case, maintaining the guitar’s authenticity while keeping the instrument in a more streamlined playing configuration. A beautifully selected, exceptionally figured 6120 — lively, articulate, and crafted with the precision and musicality that define the best of Terada-era Gretsch instruments.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Suhr Custom T</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2011 Suhr Custom T is a modern, highly personalized take on the T-style platform — understated at first glance, but full of thoughtful details and unique character. Finished in what was intended to be a traditional trans-black, the swamp ash body reveals a surprising green tint under light — a subtle, organic hue that gives the instrument a personality all its own. The guitar features a custom roasted maple neck with a comfortable soft-V profile, compound radius, stainless steel frets, and elegant abalone fretboard accents. The result is a neck that feels fast, smooth, and immediately familiar, with Suhr’s trademark precision in fretwork and setup. Electronics are a significant part of this guitar’s identity. The instrument is fitted with Suhr humbuckers paired with a custom circuit that includes both a “sweet switch” for instant tonal contouring and a complete circuit bypass for pure, uncolored pickup output. A PU–AMP stage adds additional versatility, making the guitar far more flexible than it appears from the outside. Tonally, the guitar blends the clarity and immediacy of swamp ash with the warmth and punch of humbuckers. The custom switching provides a wide range of voices, from clean and open to thick and driven, making the instrument equally suited for studio work and performance. A unique and expressive Suhr T — refined in feel, distinctive in appearance, and shaped by both boutique craftsmanship and thoughtful customization.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Ovation Balladeer (1995)</image:title>
<image:caption>Built in Ovation’s original Hartford, Connecticut factory, this 1995 Balladeer reflects a moment when the company’s craftsmanship and engineering were still closely tied to its aerospace origins. It features a solid spruce top paired with a mahogany neck, a classic combination that brings warmth, clarity, and a quick, articulate response — qualities that balance naturally against Ovation’s most defining innovation, the Lyrachord composite bowl. Ovation’s story famously began not in a traditional guitar workshop, but in the laboratories of Charles Kaman, an aeronautical engineer whose research into helicopter-blade vibration led him to rethink acoustic instrument design. The rounded synthetic back he invented delivered stability, projection, and tonal consistency that wooden bodies struggled to match, especially in changing environments. By the mid-1990s, guitars coming out of the Hartford factory had a recognizable voice: crisp on top, tight on the low end, and remarkably microphone-friendly. This Balladeer fits squarely into that lineage. It is not exotic or boutique, but it is reliably musical — a studio tool that earns its place by behaving exactly the same every day. Strummed, it delivers a focused, balanced shimmer. Fingerpicked, it offers clean separation without excess bloom. Plugged in, it produces the unmistakable Ovation tone that helped define the entire MTV Unplugged era. A straightforward, dependable acoustic from one of the most unconventional chapters in American guitar history — proof that innovation doesn’t always come from tradition, and sometimes the most unlikely ideas are the ones that endure.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Gibson Custom R9 Les Paul “Lemon”</image:title>
<image:caption>“Lemon” is a 2023 Gibson Custom Shop ’59 Les Paul that captures the essence of a vintage Burst while adding a touch of individuality through both tone and character. Its beautifully figured maple top, finished in a soft lemon burst, has the kind of depth and movement that made late-’50s instruments iconic — a top that feels alive, shifting subtly under changing light. The mahogany body and long-tenon neck deliver the expected resonance, weight, and sustain that define a great Les Paul. What sets Lemon apart is the Peter Green neck pickup mod, a magnet-orientation and wiring change that produces the legendary out-of-phase middle position tone. It’s the unmistakable, slightly hollow, vocal sound heard on Green’s earliest recordings — bright yet shadowed, expressive yet understated. On this guitar, the mod adds a striking second personality: classic Burst power on its own pickups, and a haunting, harmonically complex sweetness when the two are combined. The ’59 neck carve is full but comfortable, shaped with the Custom Shop’s recent attention to historical accuracy. Combined with excellent fretwork and natural acoustic resonance, Lemon feels immediately responsive — one of those guitars that seems to play along with you rather than resist. Clean passages bloom with warmth; driven tones sustain with authority; and the out-of-phase setting slips into the mix with a voice entirely its own. A modern reissue with a vintage heart and a distinctive twist, Lemon stands as both a tribute to the 1959 ideal and an exploration of its more unusual tonal corners. A guitar with presence, personality, and a name that fits it perfectly.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - PRS "Custom 24" (1993)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1993 Custom 24 is a standout from one of PRS’s most respected eras, a guitar that proves beauty isn’t limited to official designations. Though not stamped as a Ten Top, the figured maple on this instrument rivals — and in some cases exceeds — the depth, movement, and visual interest of many certified tops from the period. Even the cavity bears a handwritten “10 top?” as if someone at the factory had second thoughts. Unlike the more common bird inlays, this one features moon dots, a subtle and understated aesthetic that suits the guitar’s character. Under the hood, it’s equipped with a set of PRS Dragon pickups, known for their bold output and rich harmonic content — a pairing that gives this Custom 24 an authoritative voice, equal parts articulate and muscular. One of its rarest features is the stainless-steel PRS tremolo with an aluminum block, a bridge manufactured in very limited quantities. John Mann — the machinist behind the original PRS winged tuners and early hardware — has noted how few of these bridges were ever produced, making this component a piece of PRS history in its own right. The result is an instrument that feels both familiar and unique: classic early-’90s PRS craftsmanship with a handful of unusual details that set it apart. Resonant, expressive, and exceptionally playable, this Custom 24 remains one of those guitars that reveals something new each time you pick it up.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Jasmine Key West</image:title>
<image:caption>“Key West” is the outlier in the collection — not a boutique build or a custom shop rarity, but a guitar whose charm comes entirely from its personality. Built in Indonesia in 2021, this Jasmine began life as a straightforward, affordable acoustic before being transformed into a vibrant, hand-painted celebration of island color and whimsy. The artwork turns the guitar into a small world of its own: bicycles rolling past bright cottages, palm trees bending over turquoise water, a sailboat drifting across the sound, and warm tropical tones that create an almost storybook version of the Keys. It feels less like a guitar that happens to be painted and more like a piece of folk art that happens to make music. Tonally, it is exactly what you’d expect from a laminated acoustic — dependable, modest, and perfectly serviceable for casual playing. But that’s not the point. “Key West” is here because it brings joy. It’s the guitar that sits out, not in a case; the one guests reach for; the one that reminds you music doesn’t always need to be serious, expensive, or historically significant to have value. A splash of color in a collection of serious instruments, “Key West” earns its keep not by rarity or pedigree, but by being unapologetically fun — a reminder that sometimes the best guitar in the room is the one that makes people smile.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Keith Roscoe bass (1990s)</image:title>
<image:caption>This 1990s Keith Roscoe 5-string is a superb example of the craftsmanship that built Roscoe’s reputation long before the brand became widely known. With its carved burl top, sculpted singlecut body, and smooth ebony fingerboard, the instrument embodies Roscoe’s blend of artistry and ergonomics — a bass built as much for feel as for tone. The body’s flowing contours make the instrument exceptionally comfortable, with a deep-set neck joint that offers the sustain and stability of a neck-through design. Bartolini pickups provide a wide, expressive tonal range, from clear, articulate lows to refined mids and open, singing highs. The bass includes an active circuit typical of Roscoe’s boutique builds of the era; the preamp is currently inactive, but the instrument still delivers impressive punch and clarity in passive mode. The ebony board adds immediacy to the attack and a glassy definition to each note, making the bass ideal for melodic playing, chords, or expressive solo work. Even acoustically, the instrument feels lively and resonant — the kind of bass that responds instantly to touch and rewards a dynamic player. Visually, the burled top gives the bass a natural, organic character, balanced by understated hardware and Roscoe’s distinctive headstock profile. It’s an instrument with real presence: modern, elegant, and unmistakably hand-built. A beautifully crafted Roscoe from the era that defined the brand — expressive, comfortable, and full of the musicality that made Roscoe basses studio favorites.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - #4 CYS Custom T</image:title>
<image:caption>CYS #4 is a study in restraint on the outside and intensity on the inside. Built around a chambered Warmoth body, it has that unmistakable airy resonance — the kind that makes the guitar feel alive before it’s even plugged in. Pair that with a modern-C maple neck, and you get a fast, comfortable, no-nonsense player that responds instantly to touch. But the real personality comes from the McNelly pickups: a full-voiced humbucker in the neck and a Strat-style single coil at the bridge. This unusual pairing gives the guitar a wider dynamic range than a typical T-style — warm and articulate up top, cutting and harmonically rich when pushed. Hit an overdriven amp and the guitar wakes up completely: the humbucker blooms, the bridge pickup snarls, and the chambered body adds a subtle acoustic “push” that fills out the midrange. Brass Armadillo saddles complete the package, adding sustain and giving the attack a satisfying weight.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This 2000 Taylor 612C follows in the footsteps of its 1997 counterpart, carrying the same blend of craftsmanship, clarity, and finely detailed appointments that defined Taylor’s maple–spruce era. With its solid Sitka spruce top and beautifully figured maple back and sides, the guitar delivers the bright, articulate voice the 600 Series is known for — crisp highs, balanced mids, and a focused low end that records with remarkable ease. The ebony fretboard, adorned with Taylor’s understated inlays, plays smooth and fast, while the Venetian cutaway offers easy access to upper-register phrasing. As with many Taylors from this period, the build quality is consistently high: clean joins, precise detailing, and a neck that feels immediately comfortable. Tonally, the 2000 model mirrors the character of the ’97 — quick response, shimmering overtones, and a clarity that makes it an ideal companion for fingerstyle playing or intricate studio layering. It has that unmistakable Taylor immediacy: notes jump forward cleanly, with little effort required to coax them out. A close sibling to the earlier 612C in the collection, this guitar stands as another example of Taylor’s refined craftsmanship at the turn of the millennium — elegant, expressive, and endlessly playable.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This 2010 Fender Custom Shop Nocaster is a Wildwood-spec NOS model — a modern recreation of the early Tele that helped define the vocabulary of electric guitar. Its standout feature is the beautifully figured maple neck, carved with a comfortable 10” radius and fitted with 6160 frets for a smooth, fast, and remarkably playable feel. It’s the kind of neck that keeps you reaching for it. The body wears a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, allowing the guitar to resonate freely and develop character with time. Sonically, it delivers everything a great Nocaster should: dry, punchy attack; that unmistakable cutting bridge twang; and a warm, woody neck pickup with just enough grit to feel alive. A classic reimagined with care — all simplicity, snap, and soul. This is a Tele that earns its reputation every time you plug it in.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - "#1" CYS Custom T</image:title>
<image:caption>This CYS “#1” a Warmoth-based build — an instrument that reflects both the precision of its components and the personality of a true one-off. Built around a fast maple neck with a compound 10–14” radius, the guitar plays with the fluidity and speed of a modern instrument while retaining the familiar feel of a classic T-style. The neck’s satin-smooth surface and tight-grained maple contribute to a lively, immediate response under the fingers. The swamp ash body gives the guitar its acoustic snap and upper-mid clarity — the kind of wood that keeps notes crisp without thinning them out. Paired with Klein pickups, the guitar delivers a full, articulate voice: open and chimey in the neck, with the bridge offering the focused bite that defines a great T but with more depth and nuance than a traditional setup. One of the most distinctive elements of this build is the custom brass hardware from Armadillo Guitars in Austin, Texas. The solid-machined brass bridge, control plate, knobs and neck plate add mass and harmonic richness, enhancing sustain and giving the guitar a strong, grounded feel. The combination of brass hardware, Klein electronics, and the swamp ash/maple platform gives this instrument a tonal authority that’s both classic and unusually expressive. CYS #1 is fast, resonant, versatile, and unapologetically personal — a modern interpretation of a timeless design.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Takamine FS360 (1977)</image:title>
<image:caption>Built during Takamine’s famed “lawsuit era,” this 1977 dreadnought is one of the company’s remarkably faithful recreations of classic Martin designs — guitars so well executed that they ultimately prompted Martin to request Takamine change their branding. The craftsmanship from this period is exceptional, with a solid spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a body that captures the balance, warmth, and projection associated with American dreadnoughts of the late ’60s and ’70s. The neck profile is comfortable and fast, reflecting the precision work Takamine became known for long before it shifted toward stage-focused acoustics. Tonally, the guitar delivers a warm, open sound with a strong fundamental — the kind of voice that sits naturally in a mix and ages beautifully with time. Decades on, it has developed the dry, seasoned character only found in well-played vintage wood. A product of one of the most interesting chapters in acoustic guitar history, this 1977 Takamine stands as proof of just how good these instruments were — and why so many have become cherished players’ guitars rather than collector’s case queens.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Rickenbacher 4003S</image:title>
<image:caption>The Rickenbacker 4003S is one of the most recognizable bass designs in modern music, and this example captures everything players love about the model: clarity, punch, and a voice that reads unmistakably “Ric” from the first note. With its contoured body, unbound fingerboard, and dot inlays, the 4003S presents a more understated look than the standard 4003 while retaining the same commanding presence. Finished in natural maple, the instrument highlights the clean, straight grain of the wood and the elegant simplicity of Rickenbacker’s neck-through construction — a design where the maple neck forms the central spine of the entire bass. This continuous piece of wood running from headstock to tail is key to the 4003S signature tone: long, singing sustain, firm low end, and the focused, piano-like articulation that sits so well in a mix. This instrument has also been upgraded with a Hipshot aluminum bridge, replacing the original Rickenbacker unit. The Hipshot design brings improved intonation, greater adjustability, and enhanced clarity, all while allowing the bass to breathe more freely. The result is a tighter, more responsive low end and a slightly faster attack, complementing the natural strengths of the neck-through build. Under the fingers, the 4003S feels lively and immediate — lightweight, balanced, and unmistakably expressive. Plugged in, it delivers that distinctive combination of growl, chime, and harmonic richness that has defined the Ric sound for generations. A classic design with a thoughtful modern upgrade, this 4003S represents the best of Rickenbacker’s tradition: unmistakable tone, unmistakable feel, and a presence all its own.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - Fender Esquire 1950 Reissue</image:title>
<image:caption>This 2009 Fender Esquire carries a story as distinctive as its tone. Originally part of the backline at Shangri-La Studios, This instrument is an amazing high quality instument —resonant, balanced, and perfectly lively in the hands. The body appears to be ash, finished in a beautifully transparent cream that lets the grain breathe through. The neck retains the traditional 7.25” radius, classic Fender feel, and vintage-style frets. Its playability was so exceptional that it quickly became a workhorse at CY Studios. To make the most of it, compensated saddles and Fender Custom Shop pickups were added. Those subtle changes transformed an already remarkable Esquire into a true session instrument—simple, elegant, and endlessly expressive.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This McCarty 594, nicknamed “Owl,” represents PRS’s modern refinement of classic single-cut design, balancing vintage influence with contemporary precision. Built in 2019, the instrument features the 594 platform’s shorter scale length and dual-humbucker configuration, designed to emphasize warmth, clarity, and harmonic balance across the neck. The neck on this example has a custom carve closely aligned with the Pattern Regular profile, offering a substantial but comfortable feel that supports both chord work and melodic playing without fatigue. The result is a guitar that feels immediately familiar while retaining the tight build tolerances and consistency PRS is known for. “Owl” delivers a controlled, articulate voice with excellent note separation, making it equally at home in clean passages and driven tones. Like other instruments in the 594 line, it reflects PRS’s focus on playability, tuning stability, and long-term reliability—less about spectacle, more about refinement and musical usefulness.</image:caption>

<image:title>Aj Coyle Guitar Collection | Rare, Custom, and Hand-Selected Instruments - "Spot" - Fender Custom Shop Telecaster</image:title>
<image:caption>“Spot”.. a Sea Foam Green Fender Custom Telecaster, represents the point where Fender’s earliest electric guitar ideas meet modern Custom Shop execution. It departs subtly but meaningfully from strict vintage reissues, favoring playability and precision while preserving the essential Telecaster DNA. The instrument features the classic slab-style swamp ash body finished in nitro and a bolt-on roasted figured neck with rosewood board, 11” radius and tall narrow frets. The neck profile and setup reflect Custom Shop refinement rather than period correctness, offering a fast, confident feel that rewards long sessions without fatigue. Tonally, “Spot’s” NoCaster hand wound pickups delivers the clarity, snap, and dynamic response that made the earliest Telecasters indispensable in studios. Notes speak quickly, chords retain separation, and the guitar responds honestly to changes in attack and volume—qualities that remain difficult to improve upon despite decades of technological progress. This instrument exemplifies the idea that some designs endure not because of nostalgia, but because they solved the problem correctly the first time. “Spot” isn’t a recreation of history—it’s a confirmation of it.</image:caption>
